Next Music Star Charity and Paid Votes | Madame Muze

Music has helped me find hope when I needed something to hold on to. Living with chronic illness and navigating PTSD have shaped the artist I am becoming—and the kind of impact I want my voice to have.

That is why I want to introduce you to Musicians On Call, the charity benefiting from the Next Music Star competition 2026.

As I share my competition journey, I want you to understand the cause connected to it. If you are considering purchasing votes in addition to submitting your free daily vote, you deserve a clear explanation of where that money goes. You also deserve to know the people and work behind the charity’s name.

Where paid vote money goes

The official Next Music Star rules, Sections 22–23, explain the arrangement:

  • Elevate Global, the competition operator, commits to donating at least 25% of net proceeds from purchased votes to Musicians On Call at the end of the competition.
  • Net proceeds are what remains after the competition deducts operational, administrative, marketing, promotional, and fulfillment expenses from vote revenue. The percentage therefore applies to the amount remaining after those costs; it does not mean 25 cents of every dollar spent reaches the charity.
  • The rules also specify that buying votes is not a charitable donation by the voter and is not tax-deductible. Elevate Global makes the charitable contribution. Under specified circumstances, the rules allow a different charity to be selected and do not require a full allocation of the remaining proceeds.

That distinction matters to me. I want everyone who supports my journey to make an informed choice.

What Musicians On Call does

Musicians On Call brings live and recorded music to patients, families, and caregivers in healthcare environments. The organization has been doing this work since 1999.

I find it deeply meaningful to bring music to someone who cannot come to a performance. A hospital room can hold so much uncertainty. A familiar melody, a shared moment, or the feeling that someone has shown up for you can matter enormously.

The organization’s programs create several ways for that connection to happen:

  • MOC Bedside: Volunteer musicians perform in patients’ rooms, accompanied by a volunteer guide or hospital staff member.
  • MOC Virtual: Interactive individual performances and hospital concerts reach listeners through devices and hospital television systems.
  • MOC Streaming: Bedside streaming access, offered through the organization’s “Music Pharmacies,” gives patients another way to listen during their stay.
  • MOC Songwriting: Patients work with an experienced singer-songwriter to explore writing and recording an original song that expresses emotions connected to their hospital experience.

That last program speaks to me especially. Sometimes finding words for what we are experiencing is hard. I love the possibility of helping someone turn those feelings into something they can hear, share, and call their own.

What charitable funding helps pay for

The music is the part we hear. Making those visits and experiences possible takes planning, people, and resources.

On its financial transparency page, Musicians On Call explains that donations help support:

  • Volunteer training and background checks to help protect patients and volunteers.
  • Recruitment and onboarding to maintain the quality of its programs.
  • Staff and technology for scheduling, coordination, and volunteer management.
  • Insurance, charitable registrations, and professional services needed to operate responsibly.
  • Expansion into more hospitals and communities.

The charity also publishes financial statements and tax filings there for anyone who wants a closer look.

These are the foundations of a bedside performance: someone has recruited the musician, coordinated the visit, prepared the volunteer, and worked with the healthcare facility. Supporting that work helps make the moment of connection possible.

The competition rules do not identify a specific program or hospital that will receive its contribution, or provide an exact charitable amount per purchased vote. I cannot promise that a particular vote purchase pays for a particular patient’s visit.

What I can share is the work Musicians On Call describes—and why that work resonates with me.

Why this cause connects with my story

When I talk about music helping me through difficult seasons, I am speaking from my own life. It has given me comfort, expression, and reasons to keep moving forward when life felt uncertain.

That experience influences what I hope people feel when they hear me sing. I want someone facing their own hard season to feel seen. I want them to recognize that there is still room for creativity, connection, and hope in their life.

Musicians On Call’s mission connects with that hope in a very practical way: bringing music into places where people are navigating difficult days.

I am excited about the opportunities that Next Music Star could open for me. I also want to use the attention around my participation to introduce my community to work that deserves to be understood on its own terms.

If this article leads someone to learn about a bedside program, explore volunteering, or share the organization with a friend, I would be grateful for that connection too.

Choose the way you want to support

Muze Tribe, there are several ways to be part of this journey:

  1. Use the free voting option. The competition FAQ says each person can cast one free vote every 24 hours during an active voting round. Your encouragement means so much to me.
  2. Read the funding terms before purchasing additional votes. The explanation above is there to help you decide whether that option fits what you want to support.
  3. Give directly to Musicians On Call. If your goal is to support the organization itself, visit its official donation page. This is a separate way to give, outside the competition’s voting process.
  4. Explore volunteering or share the mission. Musicians On Call offers opportunities for volunteer musicians and volunteer guides. You can also help someone discover its work simply by sharing this article.

Thank you for taking the time to understand what you are supporting. That care means something to me.

I aspire to inspire. And I hope that, through this journey, more people discover how meaningful it can be to bring a song to someone who needs a moment of connection.

Yours truly,

Madame Muze
